we’re on the allure now and due to weather they’ve changed our itinerary and now we’re stopping at Puerto Rico instead of St Maarten. How is the island doing these days (I thought it was still doing quite poorly)?? Any low key options for a family with a 6 year old?

Old San Juan was doing just fine. But then, we had a ginormous northerly swell hit us overnight and today, which caused considerable damage to Paseo La Princesa, the bayside promenade most people take to walk to the forts from the piers. Now you will have to cut across town until that beautiful walk is repaired.

Just saw the images a few hours ago. Simply heartbreaking... I do hope they don't leave it all torn up too long.
