Club Royale/Misplaced SeaPass Card

Recommended Posts

On our last cruise my wife misplaced her seapass card sometime on day 4. She rarely uses it after the first couple of days as the bartenders know by then we have the drink package. She does use it when she plays slots, though. At the time I didn’t think it was a big deal and we went and got a replacement. On day 5, the original card re-appeared so she went back to using the original card. Again, other than using it for slots, she rarely takes it out. In reviewing her casino “play” at the end of the cruise, it seemed lower than normal, but I didn’t think to ask about it at that time.

I am not sure if anyone has the answers, but when she got the replacement SeaPass card, did they automatically “cancel” or “deactivate” the original card? If she initially “played” with the original card, but then started using the replacement card, did the casino know it was a replacement card? Does anyone know what information is even on the magnetic strip? I assume just your account information and when you use it, it connects to the “main computer” to keep track of drinks, purchases, casino play, etc. When she went back to using the original card, did it even work and were they able to keep track of her subsequent play? I don’t know that she even looked to see if it said “Welcome ___” when she inserted the card. Again, it was a little strange and I am thinking somehow all of her play wasn’t tracked. Anyone have any experience or answers?

On my last Oasis cruise, I accidentally left my seapass card in our room. In a series of unfortunate circumstances, our room steward was in a training session and my wife was at a spa treatment.

I went to Guest Services and had to get a replacement seapass card. They told me the old one would be deactivated. I also had to re-visit the casino host to get a new VIP sticker on the card.
