rafaelc Posted March 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Anyone taking this excursion offered by Oceania-- July 14 Baltic Cruise. Oceania says that the 4 mile hiking segment is rigorous and that a "sturdy pair of hiking boots" should be used. Curious if anyone has done this hike and is Oceania accurate in their description. Mura Posted March 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2018 I haven't done this myself but we sailed with a couple who did, experienced hikers. They thought the description was accurate. Having seen the scenery of the area, I would never assume it's a "walk in the park"! Mura
rafaelc Posted March 16, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Geez, I rather fancy walks in the park. Oh well, thanks for the comment.
Mura Posted March 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2018 (edited) I didn't mean to disparage walks in the park! I like them too. But the region around Geiranger is, at the very least, mountainous! If the description recommends hiking boots, I'd pay attention. I tried to upload a photo I took from half way up the mountain with a view of the fjord to give you an idea, but I couldn't make it small enough. If I could make it small enough, I doubt you could see it! But if you want a look, email me! Mura Edited March 16, 2018 by Mura
