:)

We went to Long Bay Beach and it was breathtaking.

The taxis ride was only 6 dollars each way per person .... ( we gave him a nice tip)

He picked us up promptly at our prearranged time.

The water was aqua blue, and the sand soft and white.

We rented a few umbrella's and four chairs ...

There is GREAT snorkeling out in the channels.

We found some pretty shells while digging in the sand.

The locals sell food, crafts, and clothes on the beach.

My husband and his friend jet skied...They had the place to themselves.

It was so pretty there.

I will go there again next time . It was so beautiful and clean.

We also went to Long Beach on our 11/26 Serenade sailing.

Rented a car and drove there and then around the island.

I agree this is a beautiful beach but unlike you we found the snorkleing to be so-so. As with many other areas in the Caribbean the reefs are not in good health.... mainly from past storms but also from "tourist touch". People do not understand how fragile they are and stand on them and touch them and kill them. Still lots of fish and worth the time.

We rented an umbrella and 2 loungers for $20.00 for the day (altho we only stayed a couple of hours). There are many many beautiful beaches on Antigua and we hope to go back and spend a week there to check more of them out :D

The snorkeling out in the channels was amazing...we didn't touch any of the coral...The current pulled us through the channels....There weren't many fish in the areas close to shore...where you could stand...There was a hut that sold life jackets and snorkel gear on the beach...( We had our own....)

We paid 40 dollars for four chairs and two umbrella's...we didn't haggle over price...we possibly could have got them for cheaper....

There is a great bar and restaurant off to the right ( facing the ocean)....

It was so pretty....and I long to be back there....The water was warm and inviting...The sand soft and lush...The people in Antigua appeared to be poor...It's nice to bring money to their Island....
