Question about the Dawn

Has anyone cruised with kids on this ship?

we are going in April with 2 Families with 4 kids ages 13,15,16,18.

we have cruised on Carnival before and just wondering how this ship is with kids.

We sailed in April 2005 on the Dawn with 12 yr old and 3 teens (18). The kids and my husband and I had a great time. My daughter and her 2 friends found plenty of teens to hang out with had the best time ever.

My Husband and I took the Dawn in August with our 4 children 10, 11, 12 & 13. They all had a blast. The younger two enjoyed the kids club but the older 2 had no interest. They found some great friends and we hardly saw they the entire trip. We used 2-way radios to keep track of everyone, and though there were some dead spots, it worked out really well.

My kids were older when we were on the Dawn, but I did see a bunch of them having a good time. I remember seeing a group of very young one's dressed as pirates walking around singing and handing out gold treasure coins (actually chocolate), it was so cute.

Beach Bum ~ my DD did that one. She was 2 and I had dropped her off at the Kids Crew one afternoon and hit the casino. Well, I'm sitting at a slot machine right near an entrance when I hear "A Pirate's Life For Me" being sung by small children. I turn around and there she is, face painted like a pirate and carrying a balloon "sword" and walking around giving out "coins." It was so cute. Here's the picture:

Thank you. She and her brother really did have a blast. It was their first cruise, the third one for me and the 7th one for DH. We're planning another one with DH's entire extended family for sometime in '07. I'm pushing hard to get everyone on the Dawn again. I think we'll book the AB Penthouse outright this time. Last time, we got the AB through an upsell. Now, we don't ever want anything less :)
