Mercury - port side smoking?

I read in some post that smoking is allowed on the port side of the ship. Is this true? We have reserved SkySuite 1207 on the port side. Is smoking allowed in the staterooms? Will we be bothered by smoke?

We were worried about the same thing (I am highly allergic to tobacco and my wife has asthma). No problems at all with smoke in our cabin or in my father-in-law's cabin).

The only time on the cruise that smoke was a problem was when we were waiting outside the main dining room for our seating. The smoke did have a tendency to waft from the smoking to the nonsmoking side and forced us about 20 feet further down the hall. The upper point of the main stairs is also in smoking and we had to hold our breath when using these stairs.

Otherwise, there was no smoke problem anywhere on the ship.

That's reassuring (about the room). Fortunately, I'm not allergic: I just don't like it, so a little smoke smell will be tolerable while waiting, I suppose.

We were in Sky Suite 1221 on the port side and did not smell any smoke scent in the room. I have a highly developed sense of smell and would have noticed it.

There was not an ashtray in the room but there was a sign saying 'Please do not smoke in bed".

In some of the public rooms and on deck the smoke could be irritating but all you had to do was move to the other side of the ship.

No one on either balcony on each side of us was smoking but I guess that could be a problem.

Pas de problème, Bryan. Moi, je fais beaucoup des erreurs quand j’ecrire Francais.. C’est une langue très jolie, très raffinée mais quand même, très difficile, C’est vrai que nous avons passé une tellement bon voyage a Mercury.
