Just back from cruise-review of hotels in FLL/transportation

Just returned from 10 days on Star Princess. Got some great help from Trents and Bequia in the planning of this trip:D . We fortunately booked a limo to get us from MIA to Crowne Plaza, Sawgrass Mills. The traffic and accidents on the route were horrendous so a taxi would have cost us an arm and a leg! The limo company sent a driver who played brazilian music the whole way and who drove somewhat erratically - it was an experience:eek: , especially as he was cutting up everyone on the highway!! I can highly recommend the Crowne Plaza, although the room they gave us initially was already occupied:o ! The beds are extremely comfortable and they offer an excellent free shuttle within a 5 mile radius of the hotel. There is a tgi friday next door which was fine after a long flight and not wanting to hit the Mall in the evening when tired. The Mall is superb and food at the Cheesecake Factory excellent.Took cab to Marriot Harbor Beach Resort ($40). Room was sea view with balcony but noisy due to thin walls on either side, glad we only had one night there. The pool and beach are beautiful, the concierge was dreadful, very snappy:mad: and bad tempered with guests trying to ascertain where to eat! Five minute taxi ride to Port Everglades. Hope this is of help!

used A LUXURY LIMO, they charged $69 from MIA to Sawgrass Mills. Very cheap but the driving was hairy:eek: , and we had to put up with driver on his mobile (with one hand on wheel), if you type in limo Mia Airport a central website will come up, you put in your requirements and get about 10 companies to quote you. Have to be careful, as they can charge extra for parking and airport.
