Miles of Austin Posted April 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Are there any oddities about disembarkation and re-embarkation in Havana? Are waist packs examined by Cuban and/or ship personnel, extra procedures to ensure that visitors get on the proper shore excursions, limits on walking off for some self-directed explorations, whatever? We have cruised to other nations, but not to one requiring a visa.

HHIturtlelady Posted August 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2018 We just got back from Cuba. When you get off the boat they will check your passport. They did not check our bags coming off the boat. They did check our bags coming back to the ship. It was a pretty quick process.
Gatortim1996 Posted September 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2018 I cruised to Cuba last August you stand in line waiting to see Cuba immgration they take your visa and stamp your passport it’s not a quick process everyone has to go into the little white office one at a time but your in port a long time so no big deal they check bags coming and going
newbiewaves Posted September 30, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2018 As Brits we did not need a visa but the entry process was a long slow queuing nightmare. You then need to get your Cuban tourist currency. A DIY wander around Havana isn't difficult as long as you have a town map. The large indoor market is up from the port on the left. They will not change back currency under £20 / $20? Entry a second day if still in port was quicker maybe as having been through once already. There was also a long queue to get through the port to board the ship again. Cant remember about on shore bag checks but always checked when returning to ship.
