D&L-01 Posted January 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Anyone just getting back from last two crossings? I am departin on the 06 JAN IP cruise, and was wondering how the sea's were. I have heard there have been bad storms in the Pacific the last several weeks. What was the ride like? Thanks.
ssantow Posted January 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Recently back from the December 7-22 Island cruise. Going over to Hawaii was just great. Cool but calm weather for the first day but warm and calm for the rest. Coming back was a bit rough. For two days we had winds reaching 65 MPH and seas of 18 to 25 feet. We had a following swell which helped to keep the ship steady. Most movement was see saw front to back so those in forward cabins felt it most. I heard no reports of sea sickness but many people visiting the Doctor for patches or other remedies. All pools were emptied and signs posted warning of high winds and to avoid open decks. Current conditions suggest that the cruise out right now may experience some heavy sea on their return to LA. Anything could happen between now and when you leave so it is best to prepare for the worst and be pleasantly supprised if you do not encounter it. Have fun, stay drunk, enjoy and bon voyage.
