Any Info on Hampton Inn FLL (not North)??

We just made a last-minute decision (for us!) to go on a 2/5 cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. At this point, we have booked the Hampton Inn and Suites at FLL Airport (on Stirling Road, NOT the "Airport-North" site) for Feb. 4 pre-cruise. Anyone have any info on this hotel? Also, we will need to get some dinner that night as we are arriving at 5:30pm. Will there be something close enough to walk to (we'll be with my mother, so the walking distance is limited)? Or should we eat at the airport (I know, I hate the idea, too!) before getting the shuttle to the hotel?

 

At this point, many of our otherwise first-choice hotels are booked right now (or too expensive) - our other choices are Hampton Inn - City Center (looks like nothing is nearby?), Hampton Inn Plantation, Sleep Inn and the Comfort Inn Airport/Cruiseport.
