Realistic time to get rental car at Maui

POA docks at 8 am in Maui. What is a realistic time to catch a shuttle to the airport and get a Thrifty car rental and be on the road? Thanks.

I'd say if the ship docks at 8, you should be able to get off then. It is a good idea to make your car reservation before you go though. I did notice some of the shuttles were only taking people with reservations, and i did hear that some people couldnt get rentals because there weren't any available. We rented from national with an entertainment coupon and it was great, shuttle picked us up and took us back to dock when we dropped it off. We also got a convertible at the last minute for only an extra $15 a day. It was a blast. Have fun!!!!

How long is the trip to get the car at the airport car rental? I have a Thrifty advance rental. If we are unable to get on the first Thrifty shuttle, then what time frame are we talking about? Thanks.

The airport is only about a 10 minute drive from the pier in Kahului so shuttles should run fairly frequently.
