Prescription Masks

Chuckschick, you might consider purchasing a prescription mask from a dive shop so that you could try on different masks. I've just never found a "one mask that fits every face"....and a prescription mask won't be inexpensive.

Hope you find what you want and have a great time snorkling or diving.

I'd recommend a local dive shop if you have one. Wife just ordered a prescription mask for our upcoming 1/22 cruise. It was maybe $25 more than some of those I've seen online, but if we are in any way unhappy, we have a local vendor to deal with. We bought our snorkel gear there to begin with, and again, paid a little more than online, but got personalized service and have been very happy with it.

Improperly fit gear, or in this case, a mask that is not just right as far as the prescription, can ruin a trip. If a local vendor is an option for you, I'd do that.

I just got mine from a local dive shop also. If the mask online was a bad fit it would be a mess sending it back! I paid more but it was worth it. I just took my precription in and they matched it as close as they could. You really wouldn't need the precription. The shop I went to had all the lenses and just put them in and let me see how I liked it. One lense was right on the other is off by .25 but it will work great.

Does she wear contacts? If so, she will likely be okay with just contacts in and a regular mask.

My wife and I scuba dive and that was the advice her first instructor gave her. She now has over 50 dives, just using her contacts.

(She does carry a spare pair "just in case" but that has never been an issue.
