ColSavLan Posted May 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Last time we cruised we had early dining, but we are waitlisted for early dining right now. Early dining seemed to work better for Circle C, if I remember right, there wasn't much going on around 6, but things started back up around 8 (which is the time for late dining). Just wanted to know from others if you have done Late Dining with a kid involved in Circle C and how much that affected their activities. I would really like for all of us to be able to come together for dinner.
jakeT Posted May 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Or anytime Dining. You can go when ever you want
lennythenose Posted May 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2018 We prefer late dining but did change several cruises ago to early for the Circle C activities. The kids could still make most of the evening activities just by skipping dessert but not their favorite thing to miss!
bnorris10 Posted May 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2018 IF you want early dining when you get on the boat just go to the MDR and let them know they will fit you in with Early dining or switch you to your time dining - We have done this on every cruise where we could not get Early Dining and really we prefer your time dining because we can go early or a little bit later and we are not rushed
maryred Posted May 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Usually the camps and teen club closes between 6 and 8 so families can eat together. The Maitre'D does try it's best when it sees families with young children waitlisted for early to try to fit them in. As other posters suggested if when you get your S&S cards if it has late dining goes see the MDR staff starting at 1:30 on embarkation day to see what they can do for you, early or YTD. You might not get it the first night but if they can do it you will have a letter in your cabin the next day with your new table or YTD assignment. The other option is to visit the buffet to fully feed the kids and have a hold-over snack yourselves then enjoy the early evening family friendly comedy w/ the kids then drop them off at camp for the activities they are looking forward to and attend the MDR dinner as a couple. If that night's camp activities don't interest the kids too much, just eat together in the MDR. Late dinner will be over by 9:30/9:45 and they can still go to the night owls program if you choose to pay for it.
Rare kctwinmommy Posted May 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Yep! Like everyone said, the Circle C stuff seems to pick back up around 8-8:30. So I would see if you could do the anytime dining. We would go like 30 minutes after the early dining, and the crowd was less by then.
ballarinamom Posted May 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Ditto late dining. Your child will miss most of the activity of you do late dining. We always do early and our next cruise is anytime specifically so our daughter can do the kids program
