Host Walt Posted January 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Although it costs a few bucks, this sounds well worth it. You can now check your luggage and check in for your flights if your cruise ends in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Miami; San Diego; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Seattle. ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL AND CELEBRITY CRUISES INTRODUCE REMOTE AIRLINE, LUGGAGE CHECK-IN SERVICE The program apparently started on December 28, 2005. It would be interesting to hear from those who have used the program on how well it worked.

We couldn't use it because they specified 12 noon as the earliest flight out (San Diego) and only certain airlines could be used (Southwest wasn't one of them). Looks like it would have been convenient. Besides, who cares about the luggage after the cruise is over!
Andym Posted January 5, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Have used this service on another line. Not only could you check in at the ship, you also didn't have to leave the ship until 2 hours before your flight. You weren't allowed to use your stateroom as it was being prepared for the next guests, but could use all the other fac's on board.

Yes, can you imagine, they make us go to the ship instead of bringing the ship to us. The nerve.....

I just read your reference site above, on Celebrity, and the program sounds like a really good idea. Unfortunately, it does not do cover flights leaving the States or non -U.S. carriers such as Air Canada, even though they may be leaving Fort Lauderdale etc. Too bad, but perhaps in the future...
