Taxis from NYC port

There is a taxi stand across the street, however whenever we've been there -- NOT on Sunday morning -- there's been a pretty long line. Plus a lot of available cabs seem to drive on by because they want a longer fare than to a nearby hotel.

But they ARE there!

About 10 years ago we left the QE2 around 7am on a Sunday morning and caught a cab immediately. Traffic was light so we were home in Brooklyn Heights in less than half an hour. But with traffic ... it can take a lot longer.

Perhaps my message is the earlier you leave the ship, the better your chances might be. Traffic does tend to be light on Sunday mornings.
