My husband and I were on the 6/4 Alaskan cruise. We took the sea plane at Misty Fjords which was fantastic, but we did do two other zodiac excursions (Tracy Arm and Alert Bay) both of which we enjoyed very much. Tracy Arm was more about the glaciers and ice flows and Alert Bay was more about the wildlife. In Juneau we chose the dog sledding by helicopter which was a highlight of our trip. In Icy Straight we took the same excursion that you are considering and were quite happy with it. The boat is very nice and has windows in the interior that can be opened when they stop for wildlife sightings. There are also small outside areas where you can step out if you wish. We saw humpback whales, sea lions sunning on a buoy, sea otters floating, eagles, and some small dark porpoises. Hope that helps.

Ask if the shots prompt any questions.

Generally we found whale watching a waste of (our) time as we did not see many.

The Grizzly Bear trip we did not do (in error) and it was the one that most people raved about.

We did not do the helicopter trips, but only because they are a bit above our price bracket.

Final comment. Despite my images do not assume you will get good weather. Look at the first two shots in my second folder. On some cruises it is like that every day!
