Quiet Less Crowded Beach

We are planning on a beach along Seven Mile Beach, but we don't want a place where we have to step over people on the way to the water! Do the beaches get less crowded as you get farther away from the town center? Where should we go? Thanks!

ABSOLUTELY!

However the further off the beaten path you travel, the more it will cost either in taxi fare or car rental.

The well-worn path includes all of Seven Mile Beach. It's a long beach, and need not be particularly crowded if you don't insist on having amenities. The spots with beach chairs and watersports rentals can be very crowded when many cruise ships are in harbour. However, those same spots can be pleasingly uncongested if there happens to be only a ship or two in harbour.

A little further afield is Smith Cove, tucked near the southwest corner of the island. You're on your own for amenities, but at least there are restrooms.

Rum Point has all the amenities, but you'll probably need to rent a car if you simply want to "beach it" there for the day.

Finally, well off the beaten track are isolated stretches of beach throughout the eastern districts. No restrooms, beach chairs, or other people for that matter. Very quiet... maybe too quiet.
