MomtherOfDragons Posted July 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2018 We will be cruising with our kids for the first time in February (8, 5, 2).. We usually get the drink package but are thinking of skipping that since we typically do not drink around our kids at home, but will have a couple of drinks when camping with them.. We have other family going with us, but not sure how much they will help with the kids when there is a casino nearby.. Does anyone get the alcohol package when cruising with kids and do you typically break even? (We dont get “really intoxicated”, but we always break even with the types of drinks we order). Pictures question... We hardly ever take family photos, I was thinking of using this as a time to get a portrait.. I want to do something cute (like the family portraits where everyone is wearing white and black, or a piece of denim clothing, etc). Does anyone have any cute ideas for matching outfits that arent identical? Or how could I word that to search on pinterest? I’m not very original 😳
iluvmyortiz1122 Posted July 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2018 Bump. We got the drink package and in theory, I think it will be good for us. We drink coffee so I’m excited about using that as many times as I need. We will drink, probably mostly wine with some cocktails thrown in. gymbomb Posted July 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2018 We would never break even on the drink package if we had to pay for it, kids or not. But if we get it as the perk and only pay gratuity then we do that when sailing with the kids. My husband will have 2-3 drinks a day with it, plus maybe a soda or two. I will get 1-2 drinks with alcohol and sometimes a virgin frozen drink.
A&Jfamily Posted July 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2018 I don’t know which cruise line you are on, so the price and value ranges. The golden rule for family photos is same color shirt and bottoms on each person but style can vary. You can be beach with white shirts and kakhi shorts, casual with navy shirts and denim bottoms, or holiday with red tops and black bottoms just as a few examples. Because you are cruising I would keep it simple so you aren’t packing outfits just for photos. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
RaeRae81 Posted September 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2018 I'm super late to this post, but for your photography outfit question another cute way to coordinate outfits is to have one female in the family wear a cute patterned dress, like a floral, maybe mom or if one of the kids is a girl (especially the baby of the family, that is sweet) and then everyone else can wear shirts, dresses etc in different colors all taken out of the colors in that one dress. That way its different but still coordinates. And those in pants all stick to either all khaki's or all jeans (I'd go with light linen khaki's for a cruise for the guys and loose flowy dresses for the girls) I do photography on the side and just love this style for beachy pictures!
