Amerisuites Plantation?

Recommended Posts

We booked a night pre and post cruise at the Amerisuites Plantation. The Amerisuites at the airport was booked for our dates. I was wondering what the experience has been with this hotel?

Is there an inexpensive shuttle company that will pick us up at the hotel for the trip to the port in Miami or do we need to go back to the airport to get a shuttle?

Thanks!

I would just rent a car if you're going to stay out in Plantation, it will be MUCH easier and in most cases cheaper than a shuttle.

If you don't want to rent a car we use Larry's Limo and Tri-County Transportation, both are reliable, reputable local companies.

We as well are flying into Ft. Lauderdale and then cruising (two days later)from the Miami port at the end of March. We booked a room near the Amerisuites at the Hampton Inn Plantation ($125 per night) because of it's proximity to shopping!!(we have teenage girls!!)

We reserved a car from Alamo that we will pick up at the FLL airport $40 per day, can drop it off at the airport in Miami and be shuttled to the port for free.

It seemed like a good way to travel and have a car while in florida for the day or so.

That's the best way to do it cruizing with teens, you'll be very happy you have a car out there.

Those hotels are close to the Broward Mall and Fashion Mall, but those are pretty average, boring malls that have all the same things that any other mall in the country has.

Take your girls to Sawgrass Mills, it's about 15 minutes away, is MUCH bigger and has a LOT more stores... http://www.sawgrassmillsmall.com/

Thanks Trent!!

That was our plan to go to Sawgrass Mills, we also want to do the Swap Shop.

We are from Ontario so even the "ordinary" stores will be different for us.(we even like Target, K mart!!)

Would you recommend we perhaps stay close to Sawgrass ( I know there are hotels right by there) or are we close enough in Plantation??

Thanks!

Oh with a car you're fine where you're at. You'll be in between Sawgrass Mills and the Swap Shop, plus it's close to a number of restaurants and has easy access to I-595.

If you wanted to stay across the street from Sawgrass Mills though the Crowne Plaza is a very nice hotel... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/cp/1/en/hd/fllss
