what does aft mean for cabin

It means those at the back of the ship - coveted ones are aft balcony cabins. You have to take the time to check the deck plans out because the cruise lines sometimes refer to cabins at the back of the ship along the hall as "aft" (which is true they are aft of forward). When CCers talk about "aft" we mean right across the back of the ship. Some ships do not have aft balcony cabins so you really need to consult the deck plan. Once you find something you think looks good; raise the question on the boards and see what others have to say.

We have aft cabins for our next two cruises --- we sail next week.

Cheers

It means when you see it on here cabins that are actually on the STERN of the ship. In fact aft cabins are any cabin in the back 1/3 of the ship but when you see them referred to here they mean the ones on the very back, the stern, of the ship.
