ctbrehm Posted January 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Hi, we'll be in Nassau in early April. Can someone provide a recommendation for a beach in either place. There will be 2 teens, 2 senior citizens and my husband & I. I've been looking at the prices for places like Sandals and Atlantis and it's a bit more than we wanted to spend. We're just looking for a beach where we can rent some chairs/shade and has a restroom and restaurant within walking distance. We are a bit adventurous so we're willing to take public transportation, ferry, etc. Thanks!
scubagirrl Posted January 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Paradise Islands Cabbage Beach is close by, but there are no rest rooms or other amenities. (You can rent a chaise and umbrella if you want). OR You can take the #10 jitney from Downtown Nassau to the Wyndham or Nassau Beach Hotel at Cable Beach. You'll have access to several pools, a small lagoon and a great stretch of beach, as well as bars/ grills and restrooms. Wyndham even has a casino. The Jitney costs $1pp and runs every few minutes from 6am - 6:30pm.

scubagirrl Posted January 8, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2006 At the moment, there is no charge. New management has taken over, and there will be many changes. (reconstruction as well as a whole new resort complex over the next couple of years). I assume things will stay this way for the time being, but as things progress, the resorts will become more exclusive. I'd say your safe to visit without charge for the next year or so.
