Hi Cruisers, Have any UK residents ever used US travel agents for booking cruises? We are thinking of doing Bahamas and Bermuda from New York, but are struggling to find a UK cruise specialist who can help. I would welcome any advice about the pros and cons. Happy cruising!

Yes, it's been done.

By quite a lot of Brits & others in the past, due to big price differentials.

But those differentials have shrunk in recent years, so few Brits find it worth the extra bother nowadays.

There are other pros & cons you should be aware of.

Here's a current thread on the subject (the title is a little misleading) which gives you the general gist and those pros & cons.

I'm surprised that UK cruise specialists can't help - mebbe if it's a short cruise it's not worth their while, though I've seen such cruises listed on their websites.

Have you used the phone? So much better to speak to a specialist rather than fight your way thro websites?

JB :)
