What is the best thing to do in Barbados if this is your first time? Love animals and photography?

Toad,

We just did the Silvermoon in December. This is a water based excursion so if you are interested in being on the island than this isn't for you. You are picked up around 10:30 and taken to the 12 person catamaran. Your first snorkel is to snorkel with the sea turtles. This is really incredible. You are then taken to a shipwreck were you snorkel again. Your last stop is just off of a beach were you are given time to swim/snorkel on your own. This was a fabulous excursion and Iwould definitely do this one again. Your day on the catamaran also includes a lunch - hot lunch served to you along with your drinks. Ben and Tony were great hosts and we could not have asked for a better day on the Silvermoon!

if you love animals and photography, I'd recommend a private island tour. Private so you can stay a little longer and enjoy the sites and take all the pictures you want. But any island tour would be great. As we don't have a zoo, I would recommend the Barbados Wildlife Reserve. Lots of different animals to be seen and if you are lucky and are there in the afternoon you get to see the monkeys. of course driving around you might get to see them anyway.

For photography, I recommend St. Johns Church, Bathsheba and the East Coast Road (looks alot like the Ayershire Coast of Scotland with a slightly more tropical flair). Animal Flower Cave on the northern most point of the island, and places like Gun Hill signal Station and some old buildings in Bridgetown.

Enjoy
