 I dont know what I was thinking when I booked our balcony cabin on the star.. I just noticed that we have an enclosed balcony ( or whatever you want to call it) cate BD we are on deck 8 , 4 cabins down from the lifeboats... towards the front of the ship

Is this bad???? and what is the difference between the enclosed and reg??? my hub is freaking out ... help in case I need to change it

thank all of you lovely cc members in advance

It's called a framed balcony, and it's not that bad. Because the balcony is recesses within the hull of the ship instead of hanging out beyond, you'll have much less wind when the ships's underway, much more privacy, and when you're out on the balcony you'll have the same field of view.

Yes, you'll lose some view from within your room, but you'll probably lose as much or more field of view from the curtains if you were in an unframed balcony.

Here's a closeup view of the framed balconies.
