Weather in October

Will be cruising from Barcelona to Lisbon during the mid to end of October. What will the weather be like during that time of year?

We live on the Southern Mediterranean coast of Spain and just 2 hours from its Atlantic coast.

In the Med it should still be pleasantly warm in mid-October (+/- 23 degrees) but there is a chance of heavy rain showers; temperatures drop a degree or so by the latter part of the month. Rain tends to come in short, very sharp, showers so worth carrying a roll-up umbrella in your bag. You should get some long periods of sun.

Once you go through the Straits of Gibraltar and enter the Atlantic weather can be a little more unsettled with a higher chance of more prolonged rainfall, temperatures a few degrees lower than in the Med and choppier seas.

Hope this helps a bit.
