Belize and Roatan what to do for a 70year old

My parents are going to Belize and Roatan. I have been to both and am concerned what they might do while there. Cave tubing and any kind of long walking would be a problem as my father uses a cain:rolleyes: . I know in Roatan unless you are charterd thru the ship then you have to walk a ways outside of the fence to meet your excursion. Also outside of the fenced area there is nothing to do except walk quite a ways to find the outdoor market.

Belize I know has a nicer port area and shopping, but other than the jungle excursions/tubing etc. what do people do while there?

Take a bus tour to one of the Mayan Ruins. The cheaper tour is to Alta Hun, and there's very little walking. No food and no cover.

The more expensive and better tour is the New River Tour to Lamani. You walk further on this tour to get to the ruins, but you get a picnic lunch (chicken) at a covered table and a fast boat ride. And you really don't have to walk to the ruins if you don't wish to. Just be along for the ride with the rest of the family.

You should take a look at a new site www.smugglersrunbelize.com They arrange custom tour packages and can do a jungle wagon ride along with a river tour. My kids and I recently returned and noticed other persons in their 70's riding the wagons.

I am hoping to move this up to get some more ideas for my parents. Any input would be appreciated
