adatappstate Posted June 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2004 We were in Cozumel in March (on the Paradise) and were so impressed with the culture and the beauty that we have decided to return on a land vacation. We are considering doing an all-inclusive and have looked at El Cozumeleno. Does anybody have any information on this resort? We've also considered Iberostar, but El Coz is a little less expensive. Is there a big difference in quality/service? How do the beaches compare? Anybody have any comments (especially you locals that get to hear first-hand accounts). We can't wait to return! Thanks for your input! Amanda Paradise 03/04 Majesty of the Seas 05/
Rare MTV43 Posted June 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2004 Amanda Iberostar is further South, check the websites below, will give you the answer. www.cozumelmycozumel.com www.cozumel.net We just returned from 6 days in Cozumel, but we did not want to do AI deal because we really wanted to explore the island. We rented 3 bedrooms condo right at the beach, it was great. One thing which I highly recommend is to buy a Cozumel map from cancun.com for about $7.95. Any questions, just post, I will response if I know. Marie
adatappstate Posted June 17, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Thanks for your responses. We are pretty set on the AI deal, just because we are so spoiled with cruising, and it's the closest thing to it. I have looked at the links you both sent. We are getting really excited. We just wanted to be sure that the El Cozumeleno had good reviews. It's always hard to tell by looking at the pictures on a website. gabbygirl123 Posted June 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Have you tried going to www.tripadvisor.com and looking at reviews for the one you are thinking of staying at. I always do that before booking so I have a better idea of what to expect. 05/15/04 Navigator of the Seas
adatappstate Posted June 17, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 17, 2004 gabbygirl123, I did find that website and I have read some reviews...some good, some bad. Just like this board. However, they aren't nearly as plentiful and detailed as the trusty CruiseCritic boards!! Paradise 03/04 Majesty of the Seas 05/
Cozumel_Tom Posted June 17, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Also try travelnotes.cc. They have tons of hotel reviews. Have a good one! Tom at Paradise Beach
