bwilso06 Posted September 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Hi All, Apologies if this has been asked before, a quick search didn't reveal any obvious results Are the tenders between the ship and Lifou, Isle of Pines and Mystery Island constantly running back and forth? Am i correct in assuming that you can go back and forth as often as you like? Thanks, Brett
Ondine Posted September 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Yes they run all the time while anchored but anyone with a ship-booked shore tour gets preference over other people who do their own thing. Usually you just turn up at the desk and get a numbered ticket and they call you when ready. After a while when most people have gone ashore you just join the queue on the next tender. Not sure why you would want to go back and forth several times because the time taken getting on the tender and then getting ashore and the same getting back when there are often long lines waiting can be considerable. Plus sometimes things go wrong like a tender breaking down and having to be towed back to the ship or when we were last on Isle of Pines there was a medical emergency which held the tendering up for over an hour. They had to get the patient ashore first. We were leaving at 3.00pm that day also which didn't help.
bwilso06 Posted September 14, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted September 14, 2018 I suppose I was more interested in how frequently the tenders go from shore back to the ship and if you can head back whenever you're ready or whether you had to go back at certain times. perthjay85 Posted September 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2018 In most cases the tenders run about every 15-20 minutes depending on how smooth the water is and how far the ship is from the tender drop off point.
