Islander: Ferry Schedule

Hello Islander,

 

Can you please tell me if the ferry schedules change? I will be there in March and I want to know if it is ok plan my excursions with the current ferry schedule listed on your website. Thanks in advance!!

Well they don't change all that much but they aren't set in stone either. I haven't seen the Red Hook-St. John Ferry schedule change at all in years; the Charlotte Amalie-St. John ferry did cancel some of its trips last fall and then return pretty much to the same schedule a few months later. So change is possible. Also another example is the car barges don't change much but there have been times that one or two of the barges happen to be down for repairs at the same time so of course that affects the frequency of trips available.

 

So again, doesn't change much but change is possible. Make your plans and then follow up with the schedule again closer to your travel date to confirm that things are still the same.
