FLL Hotel Ireland Inn or Best Western Oceanside

I am looking for information on the Best Western Oceanside, has anyone stayed there. It is a decent price, but am wondering if rooms are nice, is there any good views of ocean or intercoastal waterway.

I also like the reviews I have seen on the Ireland Inn, for an oceanfront, new room big balcony.

I have stayed in the past at Lago Mar which is fabulous. This year the group wants to try something different. Any other ideas where you can watch boats go through Intercostal Waterway from you balcony. Thanks!

Well you certainly can't watch boats go by the Intracoastal from EITHER of those places! They're on the ocean, not the Intracoastal. BW is just an old motel with exterior doors/hallways.

Neither one of those places is even CLOSE to the same caliber hotel that Lago Mar is! Lago Mar is a VERY nice place, one of the best in town. The BW is NOT a nice place. They seem to be doing some remodeling, but it's an old, nasty DUMP IMO, and that of others. Read this thread, still on the front page... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=275967

I haven't been in Ireland Inn, but it's an older hotel, and if you want to stay up there you're going to want to have a rental car as there isn't anything to walk to. There's a thread about it from yesterday by someone who seemed to like it... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=277087

If you want to watch boats along the Intracoastal from your balcony then I'd go with the Marina Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/FLLFL

It's in a great location just across from Port Everglades with dozens of restaurants, shops, grocery, drug & liquor stores within safe, easy walking distance and it has it's own Water Taxi stop.

Hyatt Pier 66 and Doubletree Galleria up on Sunrise Blvd. are both on the Intracoastal as well, however they're both in the middle of major remodeling projects.
