maxx Posted January 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2006 How long are the usual transfers by tender? Are there long lines prior to boarding? Any tips?
mummsie Posted January 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2006 It depends which ship you are on. On the Pacific Princess you usually go to the bar at the casino and they give you a coloured ticket. They tell you how long it will be approximately and then you just go down and hop on. Coming back you just get on when you are ready. They basically have them running like a shuttle so there is usually not much of a wait to get back to the ship. If you have tours booked you usually get to go off first. Truebliss72 Posted January 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2006 On the Pacific Sun it took us some time to get on. You meet at a certain point and get a tender ticket which will be in groups. They say never to come if you are not ready for your tender. It sometimes took us 1 hr waiting and others 20 minutes depends on the island and the day. All crew are not allowed on the tenders until after the last tender for the passengers for the day which could be 2pm. Depending on the tender as well and how many it seats. We loved the tender trips to the islands.Coming back to the ship there was never really any big wait times.
Skyrules Posted January 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2006 How long are the usual transfers by tender? Are there long lines prior to boarding? Any tips? It really depends on where you are and what the weathers like, etc, etc. For going ashore you need to be organised and get your tender tickets early - or else find something else to do go ashore a bit later when the ques have died down a bit. Coming back is usually a bit better, but again, in reverse to the going ashore, the later you leave it the longer you might have to wait as everyone tries to get back aboard.
