Littlegoo75 Posted April 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2004 Looking at planning a shorter cruise 3 - 5 day one for Valentine's Day 2005. I used to say that I would never sail on the older ships with the shorter itineraries, but now I am thinking, why not? Our last Valentine's Day dinner cost $200, so for a few hundred dollars more, why not make a whole cruise out of it? I would like to know if the cruise lines do anything special for Valentine's Day. I would like to hear from any one who has done this before, and would also like to know which ships they would recommend. I see that the Paradise now sails out of Long Beach and does 4 day sailings for a good price. That might be a good option. I would love to hear some comments from ya'll. Littlegoo75 Posted April 2, 2004 Author #2 Share Posted April 2, 2004 OOps, just realized that the Paradise doesn't move to Long Beach until later this year and she will no longer be non-smoking. What a shame. Carnival Pride 4/27/02 Sitmar Fairsea 4/ 1983 ( I was just a little kid!!)

Littlegoo75 Posted April 2, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 2, 2004 OOh, I would love to join you guys, but I can't ever plan anything that far in advance. With the jobs my husband and I have, there is too much of a chance that our leave could get cancelled, and we can get caught up in projects. I would probably have to put off reserving until December this year. We have had too many scares of cancelled leave this year already and the insurance doesn't cover that. By the way, what is going to happen to the Norway? Carnival Pride 4/27/02 Sitmar Fairsea 4/ 1983 ( I was just a little kid!!)
elvisillusions Posted April 2, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2004 We were on the Conquest for Valentines day this year. The CD gave all the participants in the talent show a rose to give to their significant other, the talent show was on the 13th. Also, all the ladies who ate in the dining room for dinner on the 14th got a rose. There were chocolate covered strawberries for sale at several places on the ship... other than that, it was left up to you to make Valentines as special as you wanted it! Patdmoose Posted April 2, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2004 We were on the Paradise this past Valentines Day. You could order flowers to be sent to dinner from the 'tuxedo' shop. I cannot remember the name of that shop. I paid $6 to have a single rose delivered to my wife. They brought 3 roses to our table. My two adult daughters were at the table with us, so they gave them the other two roses. No ladies at the other tables around us recieved any flowers. So, I figured that there were a couple of mad guys at the Purser's desk later wanting to know where their roses were. -Patdmoose 1/99 Imagination 2/01 Celebration 1/02 Inspiration 2/03 Holiday 2/04 Paradise

gogetter Posted April 3, 2004 #12 Share Posted April 3, 2004 Hello, We sailed the Pride from Port Canaveral for our 10 year anniversary cruise. They did nothing special for us. Of course for a nominal fee you could order some kind of room decorations and package that includes wine or champagne and flowers and such. We had dinner in the Supper Club....and nothing special...we had to pay like everyone else. I even tried emailing many people...from Carnival and no responses.... In other words...do not expect anything.....just whip out the wallet and pay for what you want....
bthorn1108 Posted April 3, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 3, 2004 We have sailed on two different cruiselines over Valentines day, as recently as this year on the Voyager, and nothing special was done by the cruiseline. rayswoman Posted November 25, 2004 #14 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Do they advertise the rose delivery, or is it something you just found out while in the tux shop? My DH is loving and wonderful but sometimes a little dense, and I'm not the type who likes to let my husband know things like "Hey, you can get me roses in the tux shop", LOL. We're sailing on the Conquest on 2-13-05. Rebecca
