Ernie G Posted January 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2006 OK, I'm beginning to doubt my decision regarding hotel reservation. I've been bidding for 2 weeks for a 3* plus for FLL/DT zone for 3/10/06. Gone as high as $130....no luck. Reserved a backup at the Amerisuites located in the DT zone for $99 through Valutrips.com. Have stayed in Amerisuites near Baltimore and it was so. so. In FLL we've only stayed at Double Tree, Hyatt, Embassy and Bahia, all bid on Priceline for less than $75. BOTTOM LINE......is the AmeriSuites ok and does it compare with any of the hotels listed above?
Bequia Posted January 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2006 BOTTOM LINE......is the AmeriSuites ok and does it compare with any of the hotels listed above? Budget hotel, fine for one night, does not come close to the Hyatt or Embassy Suites, it doesn't even compare with the other two either. The location is great. You'll be fine for a night. ;)
Ernie G Posted January 12, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 12, 2006 Thanks Bequia. I've still got a few weeks, so I guess I'll continue trying Priceline periodically. Thanks again.
hugger Posted January 12, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2006 I to was having problems finding a room to overnight in FLL DT for April 1st. The Amerisuites was even 199.00 through valuetrips.com for that time frame. I eventually booked the Extended Stay suites for 119.00 and kept bidding on Priceline. Last Sunday night LATE like midnight I tried again - started out at 45.00 for a 4* downtown - they came back saying that if I offered 13.00 more I'd most likely get it being I needed 3 rooms I felt I wouldn't mess around trying to get them to lower that and loose a my rebid - took it for 58.00 a room - we are THRILLED it's for the Renaissance DT - the lowest rate I could find for them that evening was 349.00 Keep trying on Priceline - you may still get lucky. TrentS Posted January 12, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2006 As Bequia said AmeriSuites is fine for a night. It's definitely a BUDGET hotel, nothing fancy and a bit worn around the edges. Extended Stay America and Holiday Inn Express "Convention Center" are both in the same general area, and are both nicer "budget" hotels.
