New.2.cruise Posted October 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2018 Booked on the Stockholm-Bergen cruise in May 2019, and planning for 2 extra nights post Bergen. Thought to enjoy the train ride and have 2 nights in Oslo, but after some reading, now wondering about 1 night in Flam and 1 night in Oslo. Any feedback on these options? Holmes4 Posted October 29, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2018 (edited) Prior to joining the “In the Wake of the Vikings” cruise in Bergen last month, we flew to Oslo for four days and then took the train to Bergen to meet the ship. Oslo was great place to visit - the Viking Ship Museum, Resistence Museum and National Gallery were all well worth the time we spent at those places. In addition, the train ride was beautiful (it was snowing in Finse). While everyone has specific things they are interested in seeing/doing, I think Oslo covers a wide variety of interests.... Twitchly Posted October 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2018 Maybe one night in Flam and two in Oslo? That’s what I would do next time. One night in Oslo wouldn’t be enough. At least when we went, the train arrived in the evening, and most people flew out early the next day. We were glad we’d given ourselves an extra day to wander around. But I would’ve loved to take the train up to Flam!
