car rental in FLL

We will be returning from our cruise on 1/21 and our flight is not until 6:00 PM. Is there a car rental company that will pick us up at the port? Thought we would get a car and check out the area before we have to fly out.

why don't you just take a cab to the airport?? you will have to return the car there anyway.

 

cost about $10.00. the one day rental is what is going to cost you a bunch. :eek:

I have checked prices and a one day rental for a intermediate car is around 32.00. Which may seem like a lot, but we have most of the day to find something to do.

Car rentals in Florida are cheap. You are doing the absolute best thing you can do. Most of the companies have shuttles that you can take from the shipt to the car rental facility at the airport where you will get your car. Just call them to be sure.

I love the Las Olas area..great for strolling,lunch or shopping.There is metered parking behind the shops(cheap).It's about 10 minutes north of the airport.A well-known name and anyone can direct you there.The water bus (you can catch it in Las Olas.....heading south from Mango's (restaurant) is fun to take and shows you some of the area.

Tony take a free shuttle from the pier to the airport. I believe Alamo, Dollar, Budget-have the shuttles. The new rental area at the airport is nice. All companies are in one terminal.

I called Budget today and they said they only have small van, but they have an office on 17th st. so a taxi there should be pretty cheap.

I checked alamo, National, and a couple others. Budget had the close office and can get a nice size car for 32.99 including tax.
