landsear Posted October 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2018 So there's the free Dive in series, right? What's the deal with the Imax and isn't there one other type of movie on board? What's the cost?
uttu Posted October 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2018 From what I have read IMAX movies are $12.95 per person and shows current new movies. There is also Thrill theater which shows shorter movies for various ages. They are $5.95 to $8.95 and have age limits in some cases. They also sell a Unlimited viewing package for Thrill theater for around $18. Prices might be approximate based on memory.
d-train Posted October 30, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2018 The Dive In movies were fun to lay by the pool to watch, with free popcorn, and awesome rum! Loved each time we chose that option on Horizon. The pool is open then to - fun to play in the pool, while watching the movie too! lol! We saw one of the IMAX offerings - the Avengers movie that was out in June - great theatre experience. The sound in particular, was incredible! Hard to believe most of the sound is blocked to the rest of the ship!

zippyjet Posted November 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2018 None of the IMAX movies were my thing on the Horizon. But, last year on the Vista, I saw Steven King's It. Sound was amazing and those clowns were a scary hoot. 1

We were curious about the screen on the Horizon, and whether it was too close and too high up to really be able to enjoy it while in the water without having to crane your neck up. What was your experience like?
d-train Posted January 13, 2019 #11 Share Posted January 13, 2019 The pool does go right under the screen, but the far side of the pool was out far enough to still enjoy the movie. Our LO was swimming around with his life vest on while we hung on the edge of the pool watching the movie. Good times!
Roxxy Posted January 14, 2019 #12 Share Posted January 14, 2019 We found the best place to enjoy the movies were on pool deck 11. It was still not at eye level & the seats are more comfortable than the reclining sun loungers.
