SanFranBayCruiser Posted January 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2006 Hello Fellow Cruisers! I'd like to know if Royal Caribbean offered any type of Religious Service during the Christmas sailings? If so, was it non-denominational or was Catholic mass available? If services were held, was it Christmas eve or Christmas day? Any information is appreciated. Thanks.
Legalgal Posted January 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2006 Just returned from the Mariner of Seas 10 day holiday cruise and had a WONDERFUL time. They had a midnight mass in the theater, which was Catholic. On Christmas morning, they had a Catholic Mass. There were non-demoninational services listed in the cruise compass. There were masses everyday in the Lotus Lounge. Also, b/c Hanukah fell during the cruise, there was a Menorah lighting every night in the Windjammer. Apparently, both a priest and a rabbi were on our sailing.
Barefoot_Pirate Posted January 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2006 I've been on two Christmas cruises, and they both had a priest on board for daily mass, and there was a Midnight Mass Christmas eve. I doubt if RCCL sponsors it, but any ship with a priest on board will have daily mass....and like all of us they love to cruise.
terri23 Posted January 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2006 Ditto for Splendour - DH went to midnight mass on Christmas Eve and other services were offered as well.
nerak Posted January 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2006 Just back from the Serenade...there was a midnight mass and a Christmas morning mass. We went to the midnight mass. We are not Catholic, but went to it any way to be able to attend a service. We were very welcomed, even though we were not sure of some of the things being done. The sevice was good for us.
