Christmas Cruise Question

I am sailing on the Elation for Christmas this year. I have tried searching these boards for past Christmas cruises--but no luck!

Does Carnival do anything special on these cruises? Is there different food, decorations, etc. Do people decorate their cabins?

I guess I would just like to hear about other people's experiences! Thanks.

There will be a tree...as well as other decorations. Probably some caroling/special dinners. Some people decorate their own cabin doors regardless of when the cruise is.

Champagne as you board, special dinner on Christmas Day. Beautiful decorations and trees. We loved our Christmas cruise. Also, we arrived in Nassau during Junkanoo, which was very special. Cathy

We were on the Elation Christmas cruise for 2002 and are already booked for the 12/19/04 Christmas cruise. They had Christmas caroling in the atrium on Christmas Eve where there was a tall tree. Champagne as we boarded, it felt very festive. It felt strange to have a port day (Belize) on Christmas, but we brought small decorations for the cabin and gifts and to have in the morning. There is a great dinner that evening with specially printed menus.

The Children's Program with Santa Claus on Christmas Eve was also a fun event.

We also are booked on the 12/19 Elation. Can we purchase a small table tree for our cabin through Carnival, or will we have to bring that with us? How do most people decorate their cabins? We would like to have some of the festvites we normally would have for the kids.

Okay--if you booked it again, then it must be great! That's the best recommendation!

Another question---Are there lots of kids at this time of year. I have read lots about hoards of unsupervised kids and want to be prepared if possible!

Yes there are alot of children and yes some unruly but as a whole very well behaved. Also there are alot of young adults traveling with there families. I also ordered Christmas trees from a service in Miami which I can't remember who so I will research and get back with that info. It was a 3' tall tree with lights and a few ornaments for $30.00 including the delivery fee. My family really enjoyed it. We left it for the cabin steward when the cruise was over.+
