jac21760 Posted April 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2004 Has anyone been on the Conquest? What did you think about leaving out of New Orleans? How does this ship compare to the Explorer or the Navigator of Royal Carribean?
PrincessJul Posted April 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2004 I'll let you know when we get back.....we're leaving on the Conquest on 4/25.....we sailed RCI's Explorer last year and were really hesitant to try anything different. We were afraid we had been spoiled and no cruise experience could ever live up to that one. But we got over it after reading so many good things about it on these boards. crisp1 Posted April 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2004 I can't compare, but we loved the Conquest. One reason we 'did' her was being able to 'do' NOLA. It's like having an extra POC [we went a day early]. Things can get a bit busy/backed up trying to embark, but if you get in a day early/ enjoy NO, you'll 'ease' right into it. And... this a great intinerary. Happy cruising! Up Next... A Date with Destiny 04/11/04 To Sea, or not, to See. oceantravel Posted April 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2004 I also can't compare to the lines you mentioned but I don't think you can go wrong with the Conquest. Check out my review from last week at the link below. Ronath Posted April 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2004 There is a good deal of difference between the Explorer and Conquest. We have been on both and will be going back on the Conquest next month and on the Navigator in Nov. The Explorer was one of the most beautiful ships we've been on. It's unique with the cabins overlooking the promenade. When you're on the promenade you don't realize you're on a cruise ship. There's also rock climbing, ice skating and mini golf. If you are an art lover you'll really appreciate the Conquest. It has a lively, party atmosphere which is normal to Carnival. We enjoyed both ships and definitely recommend them both. We just feel they are different as night and day. Check out our pictures of both below.
