I’ve never seen it before today. When we get money off of our sea pass at the casino they give us slot tickets or chips. You can’t turn those back in for cash. You have to cash them in the machine or change out your chips at the tables before getting cash in return. I’m assuming this would work the same way. it does work the same. Robinhill Posted January 6, 2019 #410 Share Posted January 6, 2019 My main concern is will i have to carry around $2000 worth of $5 chips because i see that as a very reaL danger- i mean that's like carrying around $2000 in cash visibly which i am sure none of would ever do. I would be afraid to go back to my cabin by myself with a;ll of that

mra9955 Posted January 6, 2019 #412 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Just off a Christmas cruise on Freedom. I bought $2000 of credits and got $200 extra. All was treated as freeplay credits. Could not cash out the $2000 I bought. Did not earn points until the whole $2200 was lost. On first night had two hand pays and walked away with $5700. The next six nights were terrible. No hand pays. Played $1 machines at max bet almost exclusively.

By the end of the week, they squeek.
sgregel Posted January 6, 2019 #414 Share Posted January 6, 2019 I'm on the Adventure sailing 1/27. I play tables mostly, and the $2,000 pre-purchase is very tempting. I know I can play thru the $2,000 before the cruise is over. I don't have an issue with the way you play thru the chips. My concerns are as follows: - Chip denominations are based on availability. I want $5 chips to play on $10 min tables. What if they don't have enough $5 chips? Will they break them down later? - If the table minimums are over $10, I probably won't play. If I do, it won't be $2,000 worth. - If I'm not winning on the tables, I'll switch to slots for awhile. I can't use my chips for the slots. I'm a prime member, but I have to see "firsthand" how this program "plays out" to see if it's for me. 😉 Sandy
Wolffie89 Posted January 6, 2019 #415 Share Posted January 6, 2019 (edited) Went through the 2200 promo chips in about an hour. Played $25 hands. Got $2000 worth In green $25 chips and the $200 free chips in red $5 chips. At the end of the promo chips I cashed in $2150 real chips so a $150 profit. It was worth it to me and easy to get rid of the promo chips. The lowest blackjack table was $15 min the entire cruise, I saw craps get down to $5. As soon as I got the chips I kept $500 to play and took the $1700 to the room safe. I went through the $500 quick and just brought the rest down after that. Was never worried about getting mugged lol as someone said I was more worried about dropping the chips. Just make sure every time you win you put the real chips aside and keep playing the promo chips. Edited January 6, 2019 by Wolffie89

I made sure of that before I purchased on my cruise. I did receive my 400 points credit, for the amount I had purchased. I'm curious, did they have to give it to you in "Promo tickets" to play. Or, did they load it directly to your seapass?
mra9955 Posted January 6, 2019 #417 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Promo ticket. I accumulated about 6500 points on the cruise. But the casino unexpectedly did not open the last night due to a medical emergency. Wasn't able to cash in my points for anything. I've reached out to CR but so far nothing other than they'll look into it.
CruisinCanuck63 Posted January 6, 2019 #418 Share Posted January 6, 2019 Thought I would weigh in with my experience on our NYE cruise aboard the Vision. I pre-purchased $500 in promotional play chips and received an additional $25 and a scratch ticket. I decided to do this, in part, because the exchange rate (I'm Canadian, eh) offered in my cruise planner ($1.31) was better than the bank's current rate ($1.37) when it was time to travel. This meant I had already saved some money on this deal. My only real concern was being able to play through this chips in a timely manner. Had I remembered that the casino would be closed the entire first night and at 9 pm on the last night of the cruise because of laws governing the Mississippi River portion of the trip, I would have had more concern, however, time would show that these worries were somewhat unfounded. On the second day of the cruise, I went to the casino cage, presented my card and asked for my pre-purchased chips. I was given five $100 promotional chips and five $5 promotional chips. I asked that one of the $100 chips be broken down to $5 chips and this was happily accommodated. The cashier also said I could return later to break more of the $100 chips should I require. I discovered quickly though, as I played through the first $125 in promotional $5 chips that if I stayed at the same table, I could simply exchange my $100 promotional chips for the $5 promotional chips I had just lost to the dealer. It worked quite well and I never had to return to the cage. In all, it took me only TWO HOURS of blackjack to play through the $525 in promotional chips, estimating an average bet of $20 per hand. I was having a very good session on that day and at the end had turned my $525 in promotional chips into over $1000 in regular chips. I will certainly be looking for this option for future cruises and may up the ante to the $1000 package. P.S. I was unsuccessful on my scratch ticket. You can't win them all.

That is, as long as your card was inserted and being read. That is how it worked with my promo tickets. I did 22 $100.00 promo tickets for mine. We bought the $2000 slots and what we had to do was go to the cashier to get the $2200 loaded onto our sea pass and once that was done we went to the casino host who then added the 400 points, which is equivalent to our $2000 purchase. I had spoke with the Club Royale manager before my purchase. He had told me that because the Navigator still used the "Old" system, they had to issue me "tickets", and that I would earn the points as they were played. That is how it worked with mine. They said that after drydock, it will be done in the same manner as you had.
