Nick Needs To Know Posted January 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2006 I was just doing a little research and, I would like to know if anyone has cruised QM2 during the holidays? I'd appreciate any links or reviews or just general comments you'd like to provide. Thanks.
dtwtraveler Posted January 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2006 I was just doing a little research and, I would like to know if anyone has cruised QM2 during the holidays? I'd appreciate any links or reviews or just general comments you'd like to provide. Thanks. We were on the 12/8/05 - 12/20/05 Caribbean Cruise. The ship was decorated for Christmas, and it was gorgeous! Everyone must have beautiful pictures of themselves in front of the numerous Christmas trees around the ship - green trees, white trees, etc. There was a very large Christmas tree in the Grand Lobby that provided a picturesque setting for professional and many amateur photographers! The Grand Lobby was festooned with garland and lights on all flat or curved surfaces, and the stairways descending from the upper level of the Britannia which included the balcony rails. Even the Britannia mural had a tree in front of it. The Chef's Parade in the Britannia was breathtaking with all of them wearing their varying heights of chef hats and lining the stairs and balcony across the top framed by the garland and lights! The Queen's Room was glorious with the stage area decked out in greenery and lights. There were bits of garland and berries all over the room. On the last evening, the entire Grand Lobby including stairs and any flat surface had passengers and crew along with Commodore Warwick singing carols! And, of course, Santa arrived and didn't even mind when a man sat on his knee and told him what he wanted for Christmas! It was a magical time to be a passenger on the QM2!
