A few random questions from a newbie

Hi,

 

My DH and I will be on the Golden one week from today on our first cruise, and I have a few quick questions:

 

Can we choose to carry our own luggage off of the ship at the end of the cruise? If so, then I presume we don't need to set them outside our cabin door the night before, and we can leave at any time (once disembarking starts, of course)?

 

We are spending Friday night in San Juan, and we wanted to stop on our way to the ship to get a case of bottled water. How does that work as far as the taxi goes? Do we just tell him that we're going to the pier, but first we want to stop at Walgreen's (or wherever)? I know there are fixed rates for each zone, but I assume there is also a separate charge for the driver to wait?
