Enclosed Balcony on the GEM

Hello all,

 

I just made the final payment for a Bermuda cruise on the Gem in April.  The confirmation of the payment states "This cabin has an enclosed balcony"  The stateroom is 10008.  Can someone let me know what that is about and if I should try to change to a regular balcony please?

The balcony will not have a full glass front, it is part of the hull.  It makes the balcony very private. I wouldn't change it.  I'll look for a picture.

We had one of these on the Jewel ??? Jade ???  And we loved it ...we would purposely book it again ...lots of space and no wind ...

I rejected mine because the metal frame reduces the amount of sea visible from inside the cabin, such as while you're lying down with the curtains open.  It would feel like sitting in a tank to me.  So I moved back a few rooms.
