Guest Posted April 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2004 What does it cost to take a ferry to the Blue Lagoon? Where do you get it? We will be on the Carnival Paradise next week. ckpan Posted September 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2004 We took the Blue Lagoon tour last week on our Legend cruise which was diverted to Nassau. It was $29pp through the Carnival excursions. You have to walk over to the straw market area from the pier and board the Calypso I or Calypso II tour boats. Don't know if you can do it on your own or not.
CabinForFour Posted September 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2004 You can't exactly take a "ferry" to Blue Lagoon Island, as it is privately owned by Jaharic Holdings and they only allow their own "Calypso" ferries to bring in passengers. The Dolphin Encounters boats take passengers to and from the island too, but you're not allowed to stay on the island after your dolphin encounter/swim unless you have also purchased a Blue Lagoon Island day pass. Don't bother trying to book the Blue Lagoon excursion on your own. I thoroughly researched it prior to our October cruise last year, and you are really better off taking the ship's tour. The ship's excursion is only $29 per person. Booking on your own is $25 (last year's price), and you must still get your own transportation from the ship to the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal (which would be more than that extra $4). The ship's excursion leaves from the dock. We had a wonderful day there, and if you're interested, there are several pictures under the link below, "Two Little Sailors." If you wish to contact the Blue Lagoon owners directly to get updated prices and info, you can e-mail them through the "Contact Us" link at their web site, http://www.nassaucruisesbahamas.com. Have a great cruise!
