Snorkeling off Passion Island?

Well, after looking at dozens of beautiful pictures, I think we have decided to go to Passion Island for the day when we are in Cozumel in February. We were in Cozumel this time last year, and really regretted not going, so I don't want to miss it again! We were going to go to PB, but for the extra $$, I think Passion Island is a good deal since your meals and drinks are inlcuded. I am sure it will be beautiful!

 

One question: is it possible to snokel off the shore - any marine life at all out there? Just wondering if I should bother to bring my snorkel gear, or whether to leave it behind! Thanks in advance!
