JeanG Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I noticed that there was a few posts stating the the Glory will be stopping in Costa Maya instead of Key West due to work on the dock. Does anyone know if this is going to happen on all Carnival ships that dock in Key West. We were thinking of the Fascination for July but were wondering if it won't be going to Key West now. newbie2cruise Posted April 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2004 the glory has to dock at that particular spot because of her size. I believe the fas. could still dock at the normal spot as she is much smaller my first cruise holiday family cruise

afdds Posted April 8, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2004 We were just at Key West for spring break. Family camping trip. We saw the Seven Seas Navigator and the Carnival Miracle in port. The Navigator had a prime spot right in front of the pier. The Miracle was docked at the other end, a more industrial area. I don't know if the people had to walk or if took a taxi into the main port area. It would have been a very long walk. I wouldn't worry about Costa Maya it has to be better than Key West. I wasn't very impressed. Maybe I was expecting too much. I thought it was just one bar, restraunt and t-shirt shop after another. I was looking forward to more local artist. The sunset and street theater was very nice if you will be there in the evening. Have a great cruise! 5/23 Victory cruise D. JTJ Posted April 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2004 try this: http://www.keywest.com/cruiseschedule.htm if the ship docks at the outer mole (OM) it won't be while the area is being dredged. DASA Posted April 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2004 If your ship isn't there for night life you will not miss anything. Key West imo wasn't worth the stop we made last year on the Pride. Like the previous post said t-shirt and bars. Unless your staying in Key West for more than a day it really isn't worth a 8 hr lay over.
