Northbound itineraries out of NYC area

I love cruising, but am not a huge fan of the Caribbean. This is strictly a personal preference. I realize that the islands are beautiful and very appealing to most people. I visited my share of these areas in my younger days, but in the summer, I love to go north. Unfortunately, I am very tired of St. John's and Halifax and yearn for something new. Perhaps Iceland or Montreal. We have the unfortunate requirement of working around a very restrictive school schedule for family trips and greatly prefer to leave out of our home port in NYC. Just wondering if I had any kindred spirits out there.
