Hi. I am new to NCL. I am thinking of going on the Escape, Bliss, Getaway or Breakway.

How do the shows  in the Main Theater works? I know you need to make reservations ahead of time and there is general 2 showings a night (7:30 and 10 pm). How many shows  in the main theater are shown generally during a 7 day cruise?  I am under the impression it is 3 main shows in the main theater which repeat on multiple nights. How do they check to see that you have reservations and how much time before the show do you need to show up?

Any info would be appreciated?

Thanks

There are usually  just two MAIN shows that you can make reservations for in advance (like on the web site once you've booked).  They run two nights each, two showings each night.  Your card is scanned when you go in.  If you don't have reservations or want to go a second time, you wait in stand-by, who are let in, I think, 10-15 minutes before show time.  There are other "headliner" shows each night of the cruise (magician, hypnotist, maybe a song and dance show) that are also free, but no advance reservations.  Again, get there early.  We found the Away class ships' theater is too small to handle everyone who wants to go, so never assume you can walk up 1 minute before the show and get in.  (Also, on the first night of the cruise, it's usually just one show, a sort of "welcome aboard" show where you get little highlights of everything coming up.  And usually the last night, the comedians who have been performing in the small club will do a "big" show...one family friendly, and the other, adults only.)
