Can you hear Deck 12 noise in cabins located on Deck 11 (Dawn -AF mini-suite)?

I've never been on the Dawn YET! (coming this summer) But I have been on her sister ship, the Star. (same layout) Never heard any noise on deck 11 from deck 12. (of course we were below the Spinaker Lounge and not the Garden Cafe.) We too are going to below the Garden Cafe this summer on Deck 11 of the Dawn.

We were below the Garden Cafe on deck 11 but it was the section that converts into the Italian restaurant. We were aware of the setting up and breakdown of the speciality restaurant. However, it was not enough to disturb our sleep. There is a certain amount of creaking and noise on board any ship and it all blends together.

I was on the Dawn last April, Deck 11, #11020. Heard NO Noise, at all.

We even were across from the elevator bank, and you would have thought we would have heard LOTS of noise from there too. Nope, never did.

I think you will be fine.

ENJOY THE DAWN.....!!!!:D

Suesan:) :) :)

All our previous cruises on the Dawn have been in cabins on deck 11. We have never had any problem with loud noise from above. If you are just below the pool area, you may hear the music during the day on your balcony but everything shuts down on deck 12 after 11PM and you should have no trouble sleeping.

We were in the same area on deck 11 in 11612 and also heard a little noise in the late afternoon which sounded like tables or beer kegs being dragged along the floor. It only lasted about ten minutes and certainly was not a nuisance.

If you look at the deck plan pdf off the europe website, you can easily see what is above and below you

Hi,

We were in 11150 in 2004 and every now and then heard a small stampede which I assumed was from the running track above us on deck 13.

Most recently we were in 11166 and did not hear anything.

I personally prefer Forward because it is closer to the areas we most frequent: Casino, Stardust, Dazzles and Spinnaker.

Enjoy your day.

We, DH, DD 18, DS 15 and I, were in 11680 last June. When I read your post, I was straining my memory trying to recall the noise level. Then I realized if I had to work that hard to remember, the noise couldn't have been that bad!

Before we left I worried about everything, noise level, motion being so far back, etc. Now, all I want is to go back. We just loved our time on the Dawn, and our mini-suite was lovely, even with four grown people. I hope you have a wonderful cruise!:)

Hi

Recently returned from 2 Jan sailing in a AF 11626&8. You can hear some movement above at night, but not enough to put you off booking an AF. The suites are excellent, Well worth it for the balcony and extra room. The AF made our holiday. There is a lot of creaking, we did not expect it. A bit nieve i think! Fabulous ship.

Hi All!

I was wondering if you can hear deck 12 noise in the cabins located on deck 11 on the Dawn?

I booked the Dawn and my cabin is below the Garden Cafe.

Thanks to all who reply!!!!

We definately heard noises from deck 12 when staying in room 11136. Whenever they repositioned the tables and chairs, we heard the scraping. Also whenever they wheeled their carts over our room, we heard that noise as well. Those were the only types of noise I recollect.

The room next to us found it irritating enough that they asked to be moved to another room. We found it irritating, but not enough that we wanted a room change.

We were on the January 2 sailing in AF #11130. We did hear some footsteps scraping and during the late evening but it was really faint enough not to be a bother at all. The AF suites are great. The head has plenty of room and you should surely have enough storage space. And of course there is the balcony! We would certainly book an AF midship again. Have a great voyage.

we were in 11520 AB forward port side and once in a while we'd hear a stampede also. I think it was probably A LOT of kids from the kids group running together in the passageway outside of the meeting rooms as that's what was above us. It happened maybe twice that I heard. I too love forward as it's so close to where we like to go-just run up one set of steps.
