newbie w/ a few questions?

We will be cruising April 9th on the Magica. I was getting worried also

til I read Andy's review.

I know this 1st ? is a sensitive one, but do they charge the 8.50 tip

per day for the children as well, I thought I saw somewhere that it

was half.

Does the invitation for the cocktail party that you get when you buy

certain room pkgs have free drinks and horderves?

When is florida schools spring break?

Has anyone taken part in the vow renewal on board? I read somewhere

that at the honeymoon/anniversary gathering that the captain asks if

anyone would like to renew their vows? Is there a fee?

Is there a place where adults can dance like the teen disco? Is it slow

music?

Did anyone get good deals for the spa on port days and if so, enjoy it?

Thank you for your replys in advance, Lisa

Hi Lisa,

My family will be on the same cruise and am very much looking foward to getting away from winter.

Regarding tips, my past experience on the other cruises my family has been on is that it doesn't matter the age. The tip is the same. Maybe Costa is different, but I would be surprised.

Here are some answers-

Cocktail parties have free drinks and sometimes free hors d'oeuvres.

The vow renewal ceremony is free-with champagne.

Adult dancing usually takes place in the lounges. Find the type of music you like and dance on the dance floor where the group is playing.

Have a great time

Thanks for the answers so far, Linda B did you do the vow renewal, or

know someone who has? I am just wondering does the captain say

the vows and you repeat, is it corny? I don't think my dh would be

too excited about it, but I think after 15 yrs and 2 kids it would be nice.

We did the vow renewal. The captain says some things and has you repeat them.

as always there are toasts. He does it in various languages for those who speak different languages. We sat with another couple we met on the cruise.

It was nice. It was right before dinner on one of the nights. We just wore the dress of the evening.

I think you should do it -- It was nice

I was looking over some of my papers and there were 2 vow renewals on board. One was with a mass and one was with the captain. Check your paper each night and register your name with the desk to let them know that you have an anniversary.
